projects on the go
This trailer has no doubt seen many miles. When loading something onto it, just after paying Brian for it, my right foot went through the floorboard. So, it officially became a ‘project’. It’s hard to name this trailer – the “Hall” trailer from whom it was purchased? The “junk” trailer as it was a piece of junk when I bought it? I think that has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? The Junk Trailer.
I had some time today, so I thought I’d putter. I cleaned up the place a little, added some electrical boxes to the living room / bath wall, and … I forget what else.
Oh, right – I properly mounted the brake / tail lights to the flatbed trailer. I got these from Princess Auto.
Since these brake lights don’t hang down like the other ones do, they are less likely to break while backing into places like the landfill.
“The trailer’s a bit heavy,” I said.
“I think it’ll be fine,” HFT said.
“Looks heavy to me,” D said.
We didn’t make it more than 5 blocks when a tire blew. We stopped along 13 St N, hazard and overhead lights blinking. I put out my safety triangle 10 paces behind the rig. Luckily, I decided to bring the spare trailer tire this day. Yay! Except…
To the dump, to the dump, to the dump dump dump.
720kg of rubbish, mostly wood, concrete, and metal. Floyd’s old wheel barrow went. (You can see it in the leftmost picture.)
We also pieced together S‘s barbecue. It was missing some screws.
