I need a new ceiling fan for the kitchen. However, all the simple, clean, white ones without any extra goo-gogs and dingle-bombles and doo-dads all over it have single light or an LED cluster that isn’t suitable as a) it doesn’t offer enough light for a kitchen or b) the lights are built-in and not changeable. Here’s not a bad one from Home Depot.
I’ve had this bathtub on Kijiji for a long time, and nobody has bitten. Out it goes.
Something that held up the work today was a faulty kitchen / mudroom light switch. It was being frugal and used an old style box. Unfortunately, it fell apart when screwed to the wall making the switch mounting screws not line up with the box. Out it goes!
Neighbour Dave suggested to use spray adhesive to attach the insulation to the attic hatch. Wow! This stuff really holds! In it goes!
I had to cut the rest of the ribbon ledger board to make way for a 2×6 for the new framing. It will do the supporting work the ledger once did by a) transferring the weight down to a basement beam and b) give 2-dimensional lateral strength. (The ledger board generally only gave 1-dimensional support, east-to-west.)
Backing (and I suppose blocking) was begun on that wall to mount the kitchen cabinets. They are a battery of six uppers, 3 high and 2 wide. I’ll show you when it is all complete.
The new burberry bushes are in. I think this is a nice enough placement. The sunflower is also coming along nicely.
Off to the dump. This first pic is kind of weird. I tried to duplicate its effect, but, like Marty Robbins’ bass fuzz, I couldn’t duplicate it.
Good-bye to the Canadian Tire wheelbarrow with the wheel that can’t be replaced.
