Over time, things get swept up, boxed, misplaced, or outright lost. I have no idea where the cover for this window crank went. I’ll have to order another, after I have a Thanksgiving weekend.
The kitchen blind was finally put up. When I get the measurements, I’ll go empty out Home Depot’s stock of blinds again for the remaining windows.
The sink is another story. I cannot find any clamps that will work for this old sink.
Canadian Tire had none. While at there, I had no choice but to buy a replacement sink. Thank goodness for Canadian Tire. It is a considerably more expensive sink than that from other outlets (such as Home Depot‘s), but there is no time to waste; the tenants are already living there. Plus, it comes with its own anchors – fancy red ones.
One glitch – the holes are set back farther than with the old sink. I need some 22.5° elbows to fix it.
Yes, I know – it isn’t connected to the vent stack. Well, it was – but things have shifted – but at least the sink is mounted. Besides, sewer gasses rise, this is the only fixture on this downward slope of pipe, and the horizontal distance to the next one is more than 3m, so there is no reason to occlude the gap.
Elbows are dry-fitted. They leak, but they’ll hold until I can get my ABS adhesive from home. (And I foolishly thought I wouldn’t need any more ABS glue.) Thank goodness for ice cream buckets.
On to other matters. Rain is expected, and, at present, there are no gutters. Back in June, during the last heavy rains, flooding occurred. At the risk of appearing pedantic, gutters must be put up today, no matter if my arms fall off in the process.
Complete, with Dave and Floyd’s help. My arms are still intact but sore. Thank goodness for Tylenol.
