hole filled, support installed

We filled the hole that the furnace people drilled in my floor.

The headers await support.

Supports almost ready.

Ready.

It wasn’t seamless, but it worked.

Because of codeine, my a) measurements, b) calculations, or c) cuts were off.  It turns out the joist support part of these 2×6 support structure was 1/2 inch too long.  I thought I took a picture of me using the oscillator saw to cut the tops off, but phone cameras don’t work well when wearing safety gloves.

It took a couple of tries because I was hopped up on codeine for my headache and a little fuzzy-brained.  See the new-again hole fix?

It’s done … finally.

Next: the large load bearing wall between the living room and bathroom.  But first, jacking up the add-on again.  There is finally a noticeable gap between the footing and sill plate.
