I rented a jack hammer (chipping hammer) to clean off three of the posts exhumed from the old locations of the fence.
It was a less-than-an-hour rental ($40 from Wards). Now I have three posts that I don’t know what to do with. They’ll be used up somewhere … eventually.
The roots, on the other hand, were a pain. We removed fence slats, hooked cables / tow ties up to the van, and gave it … heck. It took about three hours to dig / pull the remaining roots from the area. Some were dead, most were alive. I really don’t want roots pushing up the new walkway.
Shane from across the alley came by to help out. He brought some tools and muscles. He didn’t bring us beer or whatever else was to be consumed.
And then there’s the rock – the blasted rock. I piled the dirt and road crush around it.
Not yet complete, but it’s getting there.
