living room add-on walls

The living room add-on walls are scraped of all rotten sheathing.

I got some spray foam insulation from Canadian Tire and filled the cracks between the stucco and the studs.  Very sticky stuff.  Next, the insulation went up.  We used what came out of the walls but doubled it up (R12, yellow) and filled in the rest with new (R22, pink).

As we didn’t want to breathe in insulation dust, we covered it with 6-mil poly vapour barrier…

…as well as the wall insulated long ago, so Dave doesn’t have to breathe in all that Rockwool dust.

After Dave left, Floyd and I threw up the first drywall sheets.  Later on, after his supper, Dave showed up again.  “Well, there’s still daylight…”

The taping, mudding, skim coating, etc. will have to wait until the add-on is sitting firmly on the foundation.
