privacy, spiders, strings, rot (or, to expose or not to expose, there is no question)

I reattached the bathroom door.  I need to know in real-time how the door swings against the staircase leading upstairs.  Plus, it’s a nice thing to have privacy.

The globe on the new living room light fan fixture broke when changing light bulbs.  I believe this piece was the reason.  It ground against the glass when loosening.  Canadian Tire gave me a new one.  To prevent this from breaking again, I put a bead of silicone (the second time) along the edge of it.  We’ll see.

The doorbell button had to be reattached to the house door now that the front porch has no walls.

And this monstrosity of a blind had to be removed.  Not only is it ugly but it is also unlawful to rent a suite with it as it has strings.  Apparently at some point in time somebody’s kid didn’t listen to their parent(s) and got tangled up in it, and now, understandably, strings aren’t allowed anymore.

The drywall in the living room add-on has cracked as the house was re-levelled.  It must now be replaced.

One resident was evicted.

However, like everything else in this shack, removing one thing exhumes a myriad of sins from the previous owner(s).  Rotten wood abounded.

In many places, the exterior sheathing had rotted, and the only thing keeping the exterior stucco up was the exterior stucco.
