today’s tasks: vents, wiring, glue

Today’s tasks are installing roof gable vents, running wiring for the new electric water heater and three outside receptacles, and putting down glue for the kitchen, hall, closets, and bathroom flooring.  I only arrived here at 12 noon, so we’ll see how far I can get.  It’s not 35 degrees outside today, so I won’t cook in the attic.

back in the back

We’re back in the back building again. It’s being used as storage at the moment, but I’ll be starting to lay the pro board down, and hopefully things will start to take shape soon.

These won’t make the house fall down as there are giant i-beams holding it up, but something must be done to move the torrential rains away from the house.

The new gutters certainly help, but the flow from the down pipes must be moved farther away.

wooden wall planks

And now, for my next trick, I must turn this…

into this…

to finish this.

Wish me luck.

Well, the first cut isn’t bad

The tongue and groove still has to be made. Only 5 3/4 more 2x6s to go.

wainscoting trim

Now that these are stained and urethaned, back they go.

Now that that’s done, there’s paint to strip, window frames to stain, stairs to sand, and walls to mud.

dead freezer

The freezer met its demise when Floyd accidentally swept a live 240VAC wire against the freezer.  The wire hit exactly the wrong spot – a refrigeration tube.  It began hissing – pssssssss.  I taped it up, but there is no way it will hold pressure.  So, it goes to the bone yard.
